Just chilling until our next 52 week project starts up again. Hard to believe our 5th season went by so quickly. Looking forward to our 6th season.
You guessed it another spider. This one was hard to see due to it being white. It looked like it was just chilling waiting for an unsuspecting prey 🙂
Shot with my NikonD300s and 105mm lens. Not much editing. Basically square cropped and boost the contrast. Settings were iso400, f6.3 , 1/60sec, and aperture priority
I am always amazed how quick the sky changes colors during a sunset. So beautiful. Both shots were taking with my IPhone while on a walk with my son. The colors changed within minutes. Breathtaking. The only editing I did was crop them both so they fit on the canvas. You can see the moon in both 🙂
I always enjoy our NWG outings. As mentioned by my NWG girls we went to our local zoo to photograph the animals sprinkled with a lot of talking and laughing. Followed by a wonderful lunch with more talking and laughing. We really need to get together more often. One of the giraffe came over to feed on a leaf so I took the opportunity to get a few shots off. I was using only my 105mm lens on my Nikon D300s. I cropped it a little followed by boosting the contrast using Topaz BW and a bit of sharpening. It is always so cool to see what we all post after one of these outings. My settings: iso400, f4 and 1/125sec.

Decided to unwind (creatively) by walking around my yard to see if I could find another new insect. I was not disappointed. I thought this was a dead leaf on this white flower. I was taking photos of it to practice taking macro shots hand held. Needless to say I need to just use my tripod. I can’t be still. I zoomed in and realized this was not a dead leave but some insect with claw-like front legs. Would not budge even when I poked it with a pine needled. Searched on google and found this to be an Ambush bug, which the smaller, heavier-bodied cousin to the assassin bug. The ambush bug waits patiently for its prey to get close while the assassin seeks out their prey. Shot with my Nikon D300s, 1055mm lens.
Settings iso1600, 1/80sec, and f/8.
My son received an olloclip for his IPhone recently. You know what that means. Mom has to try it out. This is some teeny tiny ants feeding on some Terro. I was hoping to catch a ring of ants around the Terro but they all went home after a long night of feasting. The olloclip macro lenses are pretty neat. This was the 15X lens. I cropped a little and sharpened a little.
Some blackbirds in the late afternoon that made an interesting silhouette in a dead tree.
I brought up the contrast and color. Settings were 1/3200s, f/7.1, ISO 100. Used 7DMII and 70-200mm f/2.8L USM.
That is what I think of water droplets. Droplets look especially cool with some bokeh behind them. I never get tired of this closeup world. Happy Sunday everyone!
Used my Olympus TG4 on microscope mode. Cropped in tight and gave it a color boost with Topaz Adjust. Settings were f4, 1/250sec, iso400, and 13mm.

I brought my camera with me this week to get some wild turkeys for Thanksgiving and I was about to give up when I spotted about 10 of them in the high grass. I turned my car around to get a few shots in before they ran away. This is about when they first noticed me. LOL! They don’t look too happy about the holiday!
Used a Canon 6D with EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM. Settings were 1/640s, f/5.6 and ISO 100.
Another find in my backyard. Didn’t think I was going to find any critters since all the grass next door and the bushes had been trimmed. Right when I was about to give up I sat down next to some tall grass and there the little guy was. Not sure what beetle this is but he watched me while I did photo gardening to get him in the best light. Thank you for being such a great model. Not much editing except boosting contrast and cropping. Used my NikonD300s and 105mm lens. Settings were ISO800, f8, 1/60sec.
