Week 52 – Judy

Fire Eyes

We had a campfire going and our neighboring camper came over with a pine cone she had treated with some chemical to make the fire turn blue…very cool! I think the blue flames look like Cat Woman’s mask…for those old timers who remember that TV character.

Taken with my Olympus TG4. Just did some cropping.

Looking forward to the 6th year of No Wimpy Girls Photography. It’s been a fun five years so far!

Week 51 – Judy

Bird on a Wire

My husband spotted this cute Great Crested Flycatcher on the phone wires by our house, so, of course, I had to snap a shot. The next frame in my camera is of an empty wire  :-).

My settings were ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/3200 sec at 300mm (70-300mm).

Week 50 – Judy

As Robin mentioned, the NWG’s went to the Zoo. I didn’t make note of what kind of bird this was, but what gorgeous eyelashes it has! Another great day with the NWG’s!

My settings were ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/40 sec, at 269mm (70-300mm).  Changed white balance to shade in Camera Raw to give it more of a warm coloring and  then applied Topaz’s Adjust 5’s Pop Photo filter.

Week 49 – Judy

Merry Christmas!

Was wrapping some Christmas gifts and took this photo of my box of bows.

Taken with my iPhone. Applied Topaz Adjust 5’s Psychedelic filter. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Week 48 – Judy

Pink Simplicity

These are Desert Rose buds with morning dew on them. I love my Desert Rose plants…I have several. They bloom almost all year round and are easy to care for.

My settings were ISO 200, f/8.0, 1/250 sec at 160mm (70-300mm). Applied Topaz Photo Pop filter to just the plant and a little saturation.

Week 47 – Judy

Shriking a Pose  🙂

I’m pretty sure this is a Loggerhead Shrike taken at Viera Wetlands. Sadly, this little bird is becoming highly endangered.

Settings were ISO 400, f/8.0, 1/640 sec, at 300mm (70-300mm). Cropped a little. No other editing applied.

Week 46 – Judy

Photo Elements

Not feeling too well and was desperately seeking my weekly photo. Saw this lizard on top of our electric box and decided “what the heck.” It has so many photo “elements”…lines, texture, framing and a willing model to boot…LOL!

Taken with my Olympus TG4.

Week 45 -Judy

Very Tiny Beginnings

I noticed a cluster of very tiny eggs attached to the back of our camper. I took a photo of them in microscope mode with my Olympus TG4 and then cropped in quite a bit. These eggs are tiny!! Each one smaller than a pin head. But, aren’t they amazing! I have no idea what type of insect eggs they are, but once again macro photography shows us details we would have never noticed!

Applied some sharpening with Snapseed on my iPad.

Week 43 – Judy

Purple Star

We went to the Sealife Aquarium this past week. This is the underside of a starfish that was clinging to the side of one of the aquariums. Nice aquarium! I did no adjustments to the color.

Taken with my Olympus TG4 on microscope mode. My settings were ISO 1600, f/3.8, 1/8sec, at 11.8mm. Applied Topaz Adjust’s Detail Filter and a little denoising.
