Wired Leaves

Was out for an early morning photo walk and spotted these leaves all in a row hanging from the barbed wire. I liked the simplicity of the shot and the backlit leaves. Took many shots of different things, but this was my last one…seems to happen frequently, that I like the last shot the best. And, I used back button focus! Yes Lori, I finally figured it out!

Settings were ISO 200, f/8, 1/320 sec at 269mm (70-300mm). Applied some cropping and Topaz Adjust 5’s Pop Photo filter and then brushed out everything but the leaves to keep the background soft.

  1. Love the shot! All the tones go so well together with such pretty back-lighting! The bokeh is lovely. Maybe you can show me the new focusing technique when we get together again. 🙂

  2. This is a very impressive shot. So happy you figured out your back focus button. It does come in handy even tho it takes some time getting used to. Served you well. This is really a lovely shot.
