Week 23
Small Pink Beginnings

Lately, I’ve seen several Apple Snail egg clutches on our driveway culvert walls, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen one actually laying eggs. I was surprised how fast she laid them…you know, being a snail and all :-).

My settings were ISO 400, f/8, 1/100 sec at 300mm (70-300mm). Applied Topaz Adjust 5’s Photo Pop filter and some cropping.

  1. LOL! Wow!! Very cool! Where do they keep all those eggs? Jeez! What a relief it must have been for Mrs Apple snail! Wonderful capture of those pretty pink eggs and snail. You are seeing a lot of critters lately at home!

  2. ESCARGOT CAVIAR! Sorry couldn’t resist but that is the first thing that came to mind. That is so cool you caught the snail in the act of laying her 1000 eggs. So very cool. Great job! 🙂
