This photo was taken at Cades Cove, TN. I love Cades Cove! This is a yearling that was either abandoned or orphaned by its mother last year. The Park Service rescued the cub and took him to stay at the Appalachian Bear Rescue for the first year of its life. Then they released it at Cades Cove. We saw eight bears that day at the Cove, two with cubs. So exciting!

My settings were ISO 400, f/11, 1/5 sec at 269mm (70-300mm).
